Butts hit 160 and it seemed like a good time to foil and take a break

cooked at 275 as I didnt feel like dedicating all day to the cook. turned out pretty well. not a competition cook by any means but its my birthday this week and I never bring in any to share at work so here we go. the strip of meat inside the fat cap was unreal. just waiting to cool and pull- then vacuum pack.

Thanks for looking and go backwoods! Seriously it never got higher than -5 today and i was windy the whole time. G2 Chubby just laughed at the weather. Insulated verticals for life IMO

money shot

the juices are almost up to the top in the pan. Finishing in a pan is def a good thing for eatin' grade pulled pork.

Yum looks good, I thought for about a second about throwing a pork butt on over night tonight, but that is about as far as I got for the evening brrr . . . it's butt cold here in Minnesota today/tonight! Maybe even too cold to BBQ

Eggspert BBQ

I preloaded the chubby on saturday when it was almost 40 knowing today was going to suck bigtime. had a hard time lighting the weber cubes with a match.

Looks great! You must be getting the practice in for chitty weahter.

Not the same without a tent and sustained 35mph wind. Lol. After a team discussion, we will prob bow out of the frostbuster and come back for Lincoln days. Chances of hypothermia greatly reduced while crappy beer greatly increased

Wow, my hats off to you. That all looks great. I painted all day, my wife was the one taking the dog out. I haven't left the house yet, getting ready to though. I heard it was cold out.

Did you notice any difference, even minimal, with charcoal burn rate with the below freezing temps compared to when it was warmer? It has been a really mild winter here. Heck it was mid 60's last weekend .

I think it def took more energy to get it up to temp but once it was there, I couldn't tell the difference. First run with the new vented firebox. I added 3/4 chimney unlit kb when I foiled for chits n giggles. After the butts, I smoked wings for supper. I even did the butts at 275 and I was more likely to overshoot than under shoot temp w/guru
