anyone know where I can pick up some chafing dishes at a good price

Try Sam's Club if you aren't looking for anything fancy. Wire rack and disposable aluminum pans with sterno cans, relatively cheap.

They also have the stainless setup - prices are ok but then that's relative to what you want to spend. I've got a couple of the wire and aluminum pan setups. Cheap to use with the fuel (abougt $10 or so per dozen cans) from Sam's.

I am not in the market or knowledable about chafing dishes.
But, just did an EBay search out of curiosity.

Vast array of quality, sizes, styles, and prices.

Both work good.I bought a few of the stainless ones from Sam's.I've been pleased with them.

Heck yeah, I second and third the Sam's Club advice!

I bought some of my equipment from there. Again, as stated before there is nothing fancy but they do work. The disposables pans are life savers for those events where the client wants you to drop and go--love those customers!

You may want to try E-bay from time to time. You can find 3-4 piece sets and individual pieces from time to time. Sometimes you can even find some real nice silver singles and sets!

Good luck!

look in the yellow pages under restaurant equipment; specifically "used."
