I know, I know, "best" and "canned" isn't really possible, but I like to keep a few cans of chili in the pantry for chili emergencies. I typically freeze bricks of homemade, but sometimes I run out and need a can for something quick.

About the only brand around here is Hormel. At least they have one with no beans and i have to do some heavy tweaking to make it mildly passible.

I remember Wolf Brand from back in Texas which is considerably better, and have had it sent up here before. Perhaps some of you have know better ones that I could order just as easily?

Suggestions?

I tried the new Busch's Chili. I couldn't eat the stuff!!!! Threw it in the garbage.

I like a can of Wolf brand with beans poured over a bag of chili cheese fritos and topped with a handful of shredded sharp cheddar:cool: oops, there goes the weight loss challenge:icon_blush:

...with onions!!!!!! Oh yeah.

I like the Bush chili, but it helps to think of it as spaghetti sauce which most chili these days is anyway. The wolf brand extra lean is pretty good.

Careful, Wilkat will sue you for copy infringement of his recipe.

Hell, if you can put spaghetti sauce with cinnamon on spaghetti and call that Cinncinati Chili, maybe we can just call a Frito Pie "Illinois Chili"

F McClintock's Trail Camp Beans Rock

I'll put this can of beans up against anything.

I can get Skyline Chili in a can around here. It doesn't have enough meat, however.

Grew up on this stuff, anything is a vast improvement....

I like Stagg much better than wolfe (if I had to go canned).

Stagg isn't so bad when you have to eat canned IMHO.

"good" canned chili = jackelope, wangdoodle, chupa cabra, bigfoot, et al

(no such animal)

just my opinion

I tink the question was "best" nothing about "good".

Even when looking at terrible chili, some of it must be better than others.

Rating canned chili is kind of like an ugly dog contest. Is there a winner???

When I have to eat canned it's Stagg.
