Well the weather was just too perfect not to get out the smoker today so I decided to try some ribs. I got some spare's and rubbed them with bovine bold, put them on the smoker for about 3 hours at 275. Then drizzled with honey and sweet baby rays and wrapped them for about 30 minutes, unwrapped and put back on the grill for another 30. They were pretty good for a first time, next time I think I will foil for a full hour.

Looking mighty tasty for a first time out! Hope you enjoyed them!

I wish my first attempt at ribs looked that good. :p

I thought they were good, had a little too much pull on the bite, if that makes any sense. I think next time more time in foil will help that. I also might not have got all of the membrane removed. Wife was happy so I was very happy!

maybe less smoke time we do are spares 2-in smoker 45 mins in foil <honey apple juice brown sugar > 30 mins to glaze with your sauce of choice but they look very good for your first try

Don't worry about technique or style or anything else. The only thing that
matters is that you and your wife liked them.

Good looking ribs ...but more importantly the wife is happy :becky:

Sorry I've never foiled before but when you foil can you do the bend check where you grab the rack about 4 ribs in and pick it up to see if it looks as if the meat is about to rip from the bone?

I use that test as an indicator :p can you do it for foiled ribs also?

possible tip: On my first rib smoke I did three racks of babybacks and pulled the first when I thought they were done, then pulled the second rack 30 minutes later and the third rack 30 minutes after that. This was an awesome tool because it helped me realize how I like my ribs cooked :thumb: I liked the one on the smoker longer so the next smoke I wasnt as hesitant about keeping them on longer.

I did the same thing with spares :thumb:

They look great! Did my ribs yesterday as well and were OK. The problem I had was I FARKED with the temps too much, so yours look better than mine on my first attempt. :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Thanks for the tip on the bend test. I have heard of it but wasn't sure where to hold the slab at. I will try that next time. Thanks for all the comments you guys are great.

Those ribs look Smackin' Goot. :clap2: Keepin' the wifey happy. priceless!!! :thumb:
