The old ones used to say For freezing right below a line, haven't seen it in a long time. But the newer ones still have the line. My family has a 1961 Ben Hur Chest freezer that has probably had at least 2 dozen mason jars in it since 1961 (not the same ones of course..).
One thing to be careful of is to avoid the jars with "Shoulders" at the top, most of them don't have the freeze line. But all the Straight side ones I've seen have a line about an inch down from the lid.
