Same here, and in my opinion this is the best way to go. The new freezers are much more efficient and will use much less energy, so you save two ways. Also, the extended warrenty is a real life saver [though I am not usually a proponent of extended warrentys]. I found that the compressors on the new generation freezers are not built for repair. I got a warrenty with full replacement clause.
As to brand, doesn't matter what name is on it, they all come from the same factory.
