JULY ***SPECIAL*** "Summer Cookouts" Throwdown (Entry & Discussion Thread) LASTS All Month!!

Sunrise Q in the 704

First Entry! Please accept this as my entry for the "Summer Cookouts" Throwdown. And yes, I am pleased with myself that it only took 2.5 hrs to figure out how to post a picture rather than a link!

Glen, glad you hung in there and were able to figure out how to post a picture so you could get a solid entry in. The Throwdowns were the reason I started posting pictures here, and it also took me a while to figure it out too!

For whatever it's worth, when many of our members vote, there are numerous factors that are considered, such as - whether there was a detailed or descriptive cook thread, the creativity or effort that went into the entry, how the entry best captured the "spirit" of the Throwdown, etc.

In other words, the best picture does not always win.

Thanks Gamma. It's a fluke though. Done with a cell phone and the first decent picture I've taken in over 2 years.

That photo was fine on my phone, but it came out sideways.
A little help please. How can I fix it?

Here's my entry pic. Brisket burger with sharp cheddar, pepper jack, tomato, onion, and bacon on a bun with homemade spicy brown mustard.

Cook thread is here : http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?t=293008

This is just my $0.02, but I really think that the picture from the cook thread with the burger, brat and chips on the red, white and blue plate looks so much better than the entry pic. Not trying to be a farker, just trying to help. :)

BTW..........the picture I mentioned looked AMAZING!!!!

Here's my first entry, choice brisket from the lonestar offset

ToleHouse July BBQ Throwdown.

Please use the pic of the open smoker lid for the entry.

This was my 1st big cook on my TMG PIT. It was certainly a dream to cook on!
