Very Interesting, if I understand correctly...

For example, you put in a layer of unlit charcoal and wood chunks, then light it at one end (either with a torch or a basket of lit coals) and as it burns the fire will spread, winding around slowly through all the unlit charcoal. I guess this is the same basic concept as the Minion Method?

In the Minoin method, the unlit coals are on bottom though, so the vapors from the freshly lit coals travel through a layer of burning coals and get burned off. In this method, the freshly lit coals are beside the burning coals, so this doesn't happen.

Does this have any effect?
