When using the weber chimney. Which is what I use, I never light from the bottom I dump a load in then dump the bag on top I can get to 275 in 20-25 minutes is the norm. That with the bbq guru going full blast with both the fan and the valve wide open. The draft is great on this smoker. I watched for a couple minutes to check out the transfer tube and you can easily see how the flame gets sucked back and forth then the fan shuts down. Pretty cool to know that it works so well.
