The grilling chamber is separated from the smoking chamber; however, you can do indirect cooking in the griller. There is a lot of space in there. I think I even saw Corey from Fatbacks BBQ on the last BBQ Pitmasters put ribs on indirect in the griller. I could be wrong but it sure looked like it.
