Ok thanks everyone. Thanks for the tip Carbon! I completed my first smoke. Details and pics. 2 Boston Butts, Wally Worrld B &B lump charcoal, Hickory chunks. Started the smoker at 7am. Lit 10lbs of the lump with 6 lumps started in a chimney. Let it go for about 45 minutes until the thicker white smoke let up and the temp settled to about 230 or so. Very few ntake adjustments. When the smoke looked a light blue I put the meat on. Took meat out at 180 and wraped in foil. Finished to 210. Came out fantiastic for me anyway. Sorta light on the rub I thew together. And yes it freeking snowed in SC. I'm 50 minutes for the beach. Well the smpoking must go on. Thanks for all the ideas and support. You folks are wonderful. Later Mike
