It worked really well, only issue was I did a turkey and wanted to cook at 300 or so and with it wide open it would only get to 250 or so. Had to crack the door so it will get two more vents. Ill put a shelf on it and do some cosmetic work.

The fire box is capped at the rear but I left 2 inches at top for exh and added two half moon slots at the side so its even going up. I had originally planned to just make a simple one but this wasnt too hard since I have this scrap laying around(structural steel fab shop)

The 10x12 tube is 3/8 wall so once it gets hot it maintains temp pretty good no fluctuations.
