You really have to watch for that, and wear good eye protection. Every once-in-awhile, I have one of those "bang" moments that sends wood flying. I believe it is because the wood is not square, so it doesn't seat flat against the fence. The blade gets to a certain point, and the wood shifts ever so slightly, and BANG, WHOSH!
