Clean the grates by burning everything off with my weed burner, wire brush it, then spray with cooking spray. Anything that is in the water bowl gets burned with the weed burner until it is carbon, then wire brush it. Dump the ashes and any leftover charcoal. Maybe once a year, I clean the entire cooker inside and out with oven cleaner - makes it look like new. Don't get the oven cleaner on the aluminum pieces.
