I'm actually one of the rare ones that always have liked brussel sprouts and I'll tell you now, I'm adding yours to my list to try!!!!!
The easiest way that I've found to cook them is to split them and put cut side down in a heavy frying pan with enough water to cover 1/4 inch up the sprouts, 1-2 (depending on the number of spouts) tablespoons of butter and 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons of chopped garlic, a splash of lemon juice, and Salt and Pepper.
Once the pan is ready, put it over medium heat and ignore it. What happens is that the water boils off and cooks the sprouts. Once the water is gone, the butter browns the cut side of the sprouts and cooks the garlic.
