Last of the red hot liners....
Hey guys. I'm actually pretty good on the liner in the drum and on the flat part of the lid. BTW, by lid had no bunghole (drill 1/2 inch holes in lid or put in a 2" hole?).
Where I'm having trouble is the lip of the lid where it goes over the rim of the barrel. I put the lid in the fire during the burn today (the barrel liner flaked right up), but could not get the red out of the lip. Any ideas for getting the last of the red out of the lip? Thanks! |
Just leave it. I doubt it will get hot enough to worry about. I drilled 8 holes in mine but a single with a bent outlet would probably be better if it is raining.

Your preference on the lid holes, I use a kettle lid. To get the liner out of the lip use a wire wheel in a drill.
