Mounting a thermometer above grate?

I've seen the thermometer probes from you all positioned just above your smoker grate. What sort of clip do you use to clip the probe to the grate?

The Mavericks come with a clip that clips on to your grate that your probe slides into.

You can also cut a potato in half and slide the probe through that, or drill a hole through a block of wood.

Here's the clip that comes with the Maverick ET-73,

I wrap a potato in foil then put the probe in... when I am done smoking I will always have at least one baked potato to eat as a little snack!
