Weber vs SToK
I was looking at both while at Target a few days ago and by far the Stok Drum is much heavier and after some searching I cannot seem to find any good comparisons or even anyone cooking on one that isn't 3 years old. I really like the grates but I don't think that alone should be the main selling point for me.

Weber has been around for a gazillion years with world class customer service. I would not buy one of those until they have been in business for 10 years with some history of quality and customer service. Just an opinion from a 65 year old guy that has tried(and continues to try) everything.

Mike, guys have been cooking on Webers that are 50+ years old. The quality is definitely top notch for an "economy" grill. Some guys also use a Stok cast iron grill in a 22.5" weber. The added bonus is that a weber chimney fits in the grate insert.

I have both and the temperature control on the Stok is not good. If you want to cook hot and fast buy it but I prefer the weber.

I have the Drum, use it a lot for hot grilling and like it just fine. I wanted something with an ash catcher and I liked the grate, so when I could get it on sale I did. The grill is a 22.5 grill, but the charcoal grate is essentially the same size as the Weber 18.5 model because the taper is different. This could matter to you. The air flow control at the bottom is not very smooth after using it a while, though I usually have it wide open. I think if I could go back in time I'd bite the bullet and get the Weber OTG, but again, I do like the Stok.
