Earliest BBQ Photographs

Thought it would be cool to create this thread for people to share some of the very earliest BBQ photographs.

Photographs of food, equipment, people, structures, etc..

E.g. I'd love to see the earliest photograph of a sliced brisket -- would love to see that smoke ring.

My first brisket, 12 hours in "Old Leaky" with Jack Daniels chips.....

Sorry, let me clarify, I mean the OLDEST BBQ photos known to mankind. Thanks Landarc.

Google might be a good source for that. Most of us aren't that old :-D

This one is credited as being from 1901 - the oldest I have found with a date assigned to it (so far)

boshizzle was the keeper O' BBQ history here.

Where has he been?

meridian8 02-21-2014 09:39 PM

The 1900 picture looks like they're done cooking and already pulled the meat?

HookedOnQ 02-21-2014 09:50 PM

As stated above boshizzle would be the man to go too for old pics or any history on bbq for that matter. If im not mistaken he has a blog with a lot of good info on the history of bbq. Haven't seen him on here in a long while hope all is well.
