Add this to the firebox to have a firebox in your firebox!

I am sure the guy had a reason for building it that way

The new hot n fast. 600 is the new 300.

sliding_billy 10-22-2013 02:32 AM

Maybe it heats the house along with the smoker.

When in doubt or befuddled about anything-including smokers and grills, do the democrat thing, "blame it on Bush"

MikeR 10-22-2013 05:39 AM

Make it a true "reverse flow" and make the firebox the cooking chamber. Problem solved.

dport7 10-22-2013 05:45 AM

Cook meat in the fire box, sending the meat smoke into the meat you smoking, having double smoked meat:biggrin1::crazy:

dwfisk 10-22-2013 07:02 AM

Hummm, big enough to set up a minion/snake with full sized splits???

Terry The Toad 10-22-2013 08:37 AM

Well, back when I had my CharGriller with SFB ... I used to wish that the firebox was the meat chamber and the meat chamber was the firebox. In other words - that darned firebox was just too small. So, I can't fault the guy for wanting to make sure he had plenty of fire capacity! :becky:

peeps 10-22-2013 08:38 AM

Maybe he was from northern Cali when he built it and had to use sequoia splits and just eventually got tired of so much damn splitting ;)

I guess you could add a pitfire rotisserie across top ( inside) of firebox.......:thumb:
