It's not labeled as food-safe but how bad could it be? At $2 it's cheap.

I use something similar. The most important thing is 100-percent cotton. No synthetics.

Should be fine. You can get cone of butchers twine for round $15

Bailing twine is not synthetic and biodegradable.
