Porkbutt ribs
I bought a porkbutt today as i am making pulled pork for tommorow. there is 4 ribs attached to one side and i was wondering if that was normal and should i trim the off or leave them on? i would take a pic but my camera is in mexico with my kid.

Sounds like careless work at the processing plant to me.
I think the choice is yours as to whether to trim or not. If the ribs and attached meat are sticking out will they overcook before the butt is done? If so, then trim and cook separately for a snack part way through the smoke. If they're part of the butt, you could leave them on for extra flavor. Or trim them for a snack. |
trim cook seperately and eat without anyone else knowing.. :mrgreen: Cook's Snack!

I'd trim them and eat them as a snack, too. In my house, we call it "Cook's Privledge."
