Yup.... Sears website lists Ozark Oak lump in (best I can tell) one 10lb bag for $47.38+ $9 for shipping???? No doubt the stuff is good according to reviews and the forum. But dam this has to be a mistake!

I'll never find out. :)

funugy 02-06-2013 08:44 PM

Uh wow. Gotta be a mistake. Unless there has been a recent run on lump that I have missed.

Hoss 02-06-2013 08:46 PM

I did not look at link.It must be a mistake.I buy it by the pallet at the plant for between $3 and $3.50 a 10 pound bag.52 bags on a pallet.

NickyG 02-06-2013 08:48 PM

It might not be a mistake. That stuff is hard to come by. I have two local spots that have ran dry and I live in Arkansas where it's produced. I think they may just be trying to take advantage of short supply.

Hoss 02-06-2013 09:04 PM

NickyG the last I bought was back in the Fall.I knew they had changed locations. My Dad has a place at Melbourne,so it is not that far outta the way to run over to the plant when he is up there with an empty trailer.I am running low, only 15 or so bags left.I may need to call them and check out the supply. Thanks for the heads up.

BTW,I would take $30 a bag F.O.B. Hernando,MS.If anyone just HAS to have it.;-),(tic)

Amazon $18.95 -- search "Ozark Oak Hardwood Lump Charcoal 10 Lbs" + $12.17 Shipping. Ouch

Offthehook 02-06-2013 09:18 PM

I don't ship charcoal unless its sent to the store.

Gore 02-06-2013 09:27 PM

Shipping kills it for me. :tsk:

kds9547 02-06-2013 09:39 PM

I'd have to go to propane before I'd spend that. Yeah, I said it. Forgive me.

retired trucker 02-07-2013 01:23 AM

I would think from other things I have had shipped to my house from UPS, etc, that when I received it, it would be a bag of fine, very flammable charcoal dust.
Nope, aint gonna do it.

Blessings,

Omar

There must be platinum in this chit fark gold flakes, I tried it once a dollar a lb for 10# if I bought two bags I got the other one for 9 bucks:caked: pass. It was good but a metal strap from like pallets fell out of the bag into the chimney, mild oak flavor no metallic taste whatsoever

jfletcher84 02-07-2013 07:26 AM

It could be that there is a shortage. wasnt it a royal oak plant that burned to the ground a few months back?

deguerre 02-07-2013 07:55 AM

"In Stock from Angels Auto Parts & Accessories"

There's MY WTF?!?

Jaskew82 02-07-2013 08:00 AM

Sears is kind of like Amazon in that it is a marketplace now. Angels Auto Parts is the actual seller.
