Et-732 thinks it is 230 degrees. (In my house)

I just replaced the batteries in my Maverick and it now thinks it is over 200 in my house. Anyone seen this before? Fixes? Need to get these ribs on the smoker.

Go 49ers.

I'd suggest turning the thermostat down a bit, or you won't be able to afford your energy bill.

That happened to my ET-732 pit probe when went bad.

Bludawg 02-03-2013 03:10 PM

Does it have a reset button? remove the batteries hold down the on button for 1 min and try it again.

basuraman 02-03-2013 03:15 PM

I had a feeling it might be the probe. Crappers. Guess I will have to use the dome thermo.

While that is true..I still think it is the bad probe.

^^^That's what she said.

...alrighty, PB here I come....

basuraman 02-04-2013 09:40 AM

I did set that up for someone. Nice one.

Mdboatbum 02-04-2013 11:24 AM

Try other batteries. I had a batch of Duracells that were all over the map voltage wise. If your Thermo worked before replacing the batteries, I can't see how the probe could suddenly go bad.

Ron_L 02-04-2013 11:29 AM

I agree with the probe. Did you get it wet?

Yes it did go thru about 20 minutes of a rain storm before it was rescued.

Where is the best place to get a replacement?

DubfromGA 02-04-2013 01:14 PM

I've been through a pair of probes for mine, too.

$19 each to replace at my local grill store.
