Backwoods Rust/Paint Question
Just before Christmas, I cooked some snack sticks on my fatboy while I was at work. Something happened while I was gone, and the smoker got up to around 500 degrees, and a strip of paint came off just above the cook chamber and has since rusted. Does anyone know what kind of paint I should use to cover this? I'm thinking I also need to scrape the rust down with a wire brush prior to applying anything. Has anyone else had to do this? Thanks

I had contacted Backwoods for that same issue a few years back, and they advised to sand, and repaint with high heat paint, which did the trick.

The paint these use is a high gloss epoxy so try and find one in high heat also use a rust killer before you prime and paint.
