I plan to buy the Craycort cast iron grate for my 22.5 Weber soon. Wondering if anyone has experience with the black granite insert, labeled a "pizzastone / hot stone". I can get where having one stone "quadrant" might make a nice warming area if put over indirect heat, but even if you had multiple stones I don't see how they'd effectively cook a pizza that stretched over the cast iron crosspiece. A search turned up very little info. Can anyone weigh in?

I agree with you. The stone doesn't make sense. If you are looking for a pizza stone check out the Red Sky stone. It has a section cut out on one side.
