Spokane Skywarn 2012
The first Saturday of December is the Skywarn appreciation day and we srt up a radio station at the local weather service office and try to contact as many of the other weather station as we can. this is a 24 hour event starting as 0000Z Dec 1.
I decided to make pulled pork Thursday night butts were put on the kamado at 9pm. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8199/8...e44e1090_c.jpg they were slathered with mustard and coated with rub thre night before. Nit quite done at 8am. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8064/8...5c8f4efb_c.jpg At 10 am they were probe perfect, so put them in a pan and covered with foil then into a cooler and covered towels. then heated to the weather station. setting up antennas http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8057/8...61602161_c.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8479/8...63abe25a_c.jpg one antenna up and blowing in the wind http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8207/8...aa66bdce_c.jpg everything checked out and ready to go http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8482/8...61be88de_c.jpg time for dinner, the pork was still plenty hot, pulled nicely and was served with regular sauce and apricot sauce. the apricot sauce was the preferred one. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8201/8...29882b0f_c.jpg The weather makers at work http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8065/8...3df5a62a_c.jpg working through the night http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8345/8...f72bc7ed_c.jpg a weather balloon is launched twice a day every day http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8485/8...ed6ea148_c.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8481/8...ef5279aa_c.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8058/8...fa4196c0_c.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8200/8...fd2325c0_c.jpg not much pulled pork was left http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8205/8...a3da1244_c.jpg We were operating as WX7OTX |
I used to always enjoy the annual Field Day event our local club had in conjunction with the local RACES group. I'm quite inactive now but I did enjoy it for a long time!
