Looking at buying a new vertical smoker? Have looked at stumps and few others. I am looking for opinions

Off coarse i am bias but hard to beat a Backwoods.

I would look at Pitmaker, just got mine [ a safe ] about a month ago and love it so far.

Here is what I just started cooking on. These are built by BQ Grills in Elm City NC. One of these is a gravity feed model and the other has a charcoal basket. The gravity feed one has the option to be used either way. They are built really well and cook great. BQ Grills has a website but they don't have the smokers listed yet. Give them a call and ask for Melvin if interested. He is a great guy and will build it any way you want it.

Are you LaCrosse Wis. If so A great cooker is made in Cannon Falls Mn. Call Josh at 1-507-298-0319. Great cooker and you'll save lots of money in shipping you can use on meat.
