Interesting, so how does it cook the food before the electrical cord? or is that a special heat proof cord?

I'm also thinking it looks a little unsteady and the rod on the far end appears to have no lock and prone to slipping out of the stand causing food straight to fire.

It is a clone after a well sold on eBay with modifications:
#1. 3 skewers to hold food more securely
#2. sturdy and strong extendable support legs. You can place sand bag, brick, stone on the supporting base. You can use motor at each end to double turning force

I ain't feelin' it.

There is an easy way to protect cord

When you mount the motor box, you can hang a metal plate on the bolt, say 2" to 3" wide and 10" long. The cord is just hidden behind this metal plate. any thickness is ok
