Glass Cutting Board

My wife won a glass cutting board at a company party last night. What should I do with it?

MilitantSquatter 01-21-2012 05:45 PM

if you have good knives, make sure they stay off it !!!

JONESY 01-21-2012 05:48 PM

Smash it, that will trash a blade in no time. I didn't even know they still made them out of glass. Not only will it kill your edge, there down right dangerous.

Give it to someone you don't like.

Besides all that they usually have a textured edge that collect bits and pieces, re-gift it!

We got given one a few years ago. I threatened to give it a bend test over the first person to use it to cut on, so it lives beside the stove where we put hot saucepans and baking dishes on it. Works fine for that...

return it if you can and buy some charcoal :thumb:

We use ours as a charcuterie/cheese/antipasto platter for guests.

Agreed. They work great for placing sliced fruit on and sitting over a bed of ice.

You can also chill it and use it to cut cheese on, if you are using a wire cheese slicer.

Thanks all, when I saw it I was like WTF, glass?. We're going to give it to someone else.

Sly-one 01-22-2012 10:27 AM

Yeppers, I agree with Aquablue, time to re-gift it!

Bbq Bubba 01-22-2012 10:31 AM
