50 Pound Pig on the Spicewine
I wanted to something different for New Year's Eve. Brought her home on Friday. Did not know she was a 3 legged pig until I brought her home.

Cut off the head and feet so she would fit in the Spicewine.

Prepped and injected

It turned out great. Happy New Year.

Awesome! I guess somebody needed a trotter right away and stole your fourth one!

I'm sorry, but think that has to be the first hog I've actually felt a little sorry for... :shocked: To be honest I'd have to make an issue with my supplier over that one. It's just not normal to think of your food as an individual... Kinda see this one as such. Maybe I'm just a little softer in the new year... Who knows?? :heh: (I am in no way offended with your pics though)

BUT all that aside I think you did the hog justice! The cook looks amazing...

Poor thing... :cry::wink::wink::heh:

I agree and think they should have said something. If I had been catering I would have been upset, but I just had friends over. Plus I had to cut the legs down anyway. I guess I should have looked at it more closely, but I would have bought her anyway. It was the 30th and from what I have seen around here is that if you do not pre-order, you do not get a pig. I will definitely shop around the next time I buy a pig.

I was hoping to see a picture of the hog in the smoker. I'm having a hard time picturing it fitting.

The last pic shows the pig on the Spicewine shelf. Sorry, I did not take any pics of it in there. The large SW has a ton of room. I cooked some beans below it and had an empty shelf above it. I have four shelves and took one out. You would be hard pressed to fit a larger pig in there though without cutting the legs down more.

On my wish list. Looks great!
