Seasoning a new Weber GOLD BBQ

Hi All

Since I joined I have bought a couple of items from Sears.com and had them shipped to New Zealand. Sears had a deal if you spent $200 NZD they would ship them for $50NZD.

So I bought:

* Weber 22-1/2" One-Touch Gold Kettle Charcoal Grill
* Masterbuilt Vertical LP Gas Smoker

So my question is about seasoning the BBQ and Gas Smoker.

Can someone give me some advise to the best way to season, how hot, how long and what parts to season.

Cheers

Chris

The Weber really doesn't need to be seasoned. I would wash the grate first to get any manufacturing residue of it. I'm not sure about the Masterbuilt. Since it is a LP smoker I don't know if you need to season it.

neither really needs to be seasoned. but as suggested, i would and do wash them before using them. and then i do a small smoke session on them just so they get that first layer of smoke on them. the reason i do it is cuz i like the look ! so its not really necessary.

Thanks Guys

I am hoping for a good weekend and bring out the BBQ and having some fun.

Just a good washing; no seasoning needed on either. Actually, in both cases, seasoning could mess things up.

Agreed. Have fun using them!
