Raise charcoal grate on Weber Kettle?

What's a simple mod for raising the charcoal grate on a weber kettle? I don't want a permanent mod... I'm just looking for a simple way to raise it when I want to. Maybe put some SS bolt/washer legs on a second grate? Is anyone else doing this or something similar?

i have a 2nd grate in place at all times. when i want to raise the charcoal grate, i lift the top one and put 2 fire bricks underneath it.

it works great

Excellent... I think that will do the trick.. have the bricks already so I'll just pick up another grate...

Thanks!

I have one of these from Smokenator. Not quite as big as the Weber grate tho.

JM, Just curious, why do you want to raise the charcoal grate? What do you do / cook with that?

i have one of those too, but I don't think i've used it since i discovered an upside down weber cooking grate works just as well (and is bigger)
