Wine barrel smoker

New to this site. Purchased a wine barrel and I'm trying to convert it into a smoker. I got the bands/barrel sanded ready for staining and paint the bands. But need an idea to plug the bung hole which is 2 inches wide on the side. I seen someone do a spigot which is cool but dont know how to go about doing it. Any info is greatly appreciated.
