I'ts about 2 3/8 at the edge and more in the middle. The plow disk is cupped. Everything I had read said you needed 2". Was I wrong?

My charcoal basket. 16" Diameter 9" tall. I think it will last a few years.

My son made it for me during his lunch hour at work. Cut & weld = 2 lunch periods
