Ryan sent me a packet of his original rub and we happened to have a couple of 1 1/4" thick pork chops thawed the day it arrived so it was a no-brainer to open the bag and try it.

It's very red in color and the flavor profile wasn't too sweet or too salty or too spicy (NTTAWWT) - it seemed to be a "middle of the road" type rub - until I tasted the chops.

Wow. Ryan, you have what I'll call a sleeper blend there. Heat really changed it and it was absolutely perfect on grilled chops. I was going to put the rest on chicken to test it, but I may stick with pork!

Here's the rubbed meat just after hitting the grill (I used my elderly Bandera's fire box with new Kingsford):

Not that I haven't done that, but I had an overpowering urge to hit that chop. Pix had to wait! :becky:
