traeger junior digital thermostat conversion

so i have purchased and installed the 180* digital conversion. I worked great for about an hour. I went to check on it, nothing on the display. I checked to make sure i had power which I did. I unplugged and put new fuse in popped that fuse. I remove and replace blown fuse and remember reading about not being able to use extension cord with digital, runs without popping the fuse on factory cord. Now I get smoke coming out of the pellet hopper. I emptied the hopper, the auger is turning. the fire pot is pretty empty but it appears the pellets are burning back into the auger. What gives? what do I need to do to correct this problem.

thanks for the help and sorry for the long post.

Make sure to check the wire connections where the little sleeve covers them. I had one pull out when I pushed the sleeve protector over it. Hope you figure it out.

I've had the same problem. What's happening is air is being blown into the smoker through the grease tube hole. Try turning the right side of the smoker out of the wind if you can. Once I even had a full fledged fire in the hopper - damn near ready to trash the Jr.
