Reverse Flow Questions

Finishing up the RF smoker, down to smoke stack, cooking grates, and mounting on the trailer.
As far as the smoke stack, I'm using the RF calculator. I was wondering does the length start from the top of the smoker, or does the stack length begin inside the smoker between the cook grates?
How many inches should the upper cook grate be above the lower?
Thanks for any input.

I'll throw my 2cents in here. I aways use total stack length(down into smoker) for the overall measurement. Placing the stack lower helps w/even temps and gives you more length for better draw.

I like 5-6 inches between racks(boston butt will fit and ribs can be stood up (on an angle) in rib racks

Thanks Clay, getting down to the wire here and don't want to muff it up now!
