Friday night lights (and cook)

Last night was a beautiful fall evening. I tuned in the local high school football game on the radio, loaded the chimney with lump and fired it up.
The burning lump did its own production of Friday night lights:

And the ribeye that the hot charcoal cooked wasn't too shabby, either:

It's a fire brick that I use when I want to prop the steak on its edge.

Nice. That front came through here late afternoon, and I grilled some german sausages, and dumped my coals into the fire pit with some firewood, and sat by the fire with an adult beverage.

It's hard to believe I started the day in shorts, a t-shirt and flip-flops.
