It was a big weekend for Q School Grads in the Pro contests!

Whiskey Bent won yet another GC in Venice FL http://www.barbecuenews.com/forum2/icon_smile_big.gif
Big Kahuna won his first GC in Marianna FL http://www.barbecuenews.com/forum2/icon_smile_big.gif
Southern Soul BBQ tied for his first GC in Hawkinsville GA, RGC in the tie-breaker http://www.barbecuenews.com/forum2/icon_smile_big.gif
The Ed-Cue-Cators took their first RGC at Willie-Pallooza in NY http://www.barbecuenews.com/forum2/icon_smile_big.gif

Also had 3 teams that did great at the unsanctioned contest in Lake Wales. Very proud of all those teams!

So now the big question is...what are you waiting for? Sign up now for the July 15-16 Q School and get into the game!

Hot off the heels of another World Championship in Whole Hog (well, kinda hot), we are proud to announce our next class- July 9 and 10 in Hernando MS. We will be going over all KCBS meats as well as MBN products including our Whole Hog. We do not have large classes as we value one-on-one time and hands on experiences for the attendees, so book soon before we sell out again.

For more info, go to http://yazoosdeltaq.com

I took this class in April. Well worth it. The small class size and the one on one is a definite bonus. The class is close to memphis and there is lots to see there. Pete and Melissa do an outstanding job.

The KCBS Papa Joe's Banjo-B-Q in N. Augusta SC last weekend had a field of 62 teams loaded with talent including all the big names from across the country competing, several you've seen on TV. When all the smoke cleared, Go For Smoke BBQ walked away with a perfect 180 and 1st in chicken, a 3rd in pork, and RGC! A BIG congratulations go out to Rob and his wife Prudence, who both took the last Swamp Boys Q School :clap2:

And of course don't forget Hicktown BBQ who took RGC at the KCBS contest in Rome GA a couple of weeks ago with a 1st in both pork AND brisket! Another first-time RGC, fantastic job in a tough field!

That makes a total of 20 Grand Championships/Reserve Grand Championships by Q School Graduates, including a Perfect Score in FBA and a Perfect Score in KCBS! GC/RGC wins have happened in FL, GA, NY, and SC. This is not a regional class, these techniques are nation-wide.

See my web site for an application

We took Johnny'y class at Big Poppa's last winter...it has raised our scores significanlty. So far this season we have earned 3 GC's, 1 RGC, plus a 3rd and 4th place. In addition we have several first place meats in all categories...we highly recommend it!
Cheers!

I am interested in attending two classes this upcoming winter but I need them to be in the same general area and back to back weekends. Flying out of AK and don't want to make to separte trips.

Last year I took 4 legs up, myron's and BBQ Institute. The last two where both held in GA last November on back to back weekends which made it affordable. Looking for the same thing this year.

I will be keeping an eye out but if you find or know of something please let me know.

Our state Championship is next weekend, so hopefully I will have some good news to report.

troy

If not back to back classes how about a class and competition. That might be easier to find. Thanks again

Our next class is scheduled for October 1-2 in Hernando MS! We feature a small class size, hands on work (if you want to) and a plenty of time for questions/answers. We go over all KCBS meats and MBN meats (whole shoulders, memphis-style ribs and Whole Hog). Go to http://yazoosdeltaq.com for more info!

Still looking!

Still looking for a class around a major BBQ competition.

Chicken is my weak point (I think) so I will be seeking a class where the cook has a good results on competition chicken.

Thanks again
