Tukey Smoke..how to arrange coals???
Hey Brethren....for Thanksgiving I am going to be doing up a gobbler on the grill. I have researched how to set it up for the indirect cook etc, but my question is how exactly should I set my coals up to do this and apply the minion method or is that not needed?

I make a ring around the wall of the kettle leaving a space free for about 12-14 fully lit briqs. Small chunks of wood are hidden in the coals, I have since started standing them on end so they don't ignite coals further along the ring prematurely. Wood is about 1" by 3" long, 4-5 pieces altogether. I can get 10-11 hrs cook time from this set up.
