Thinking of getting one. I called BBQ Guru but the person I needed to talk to was out.

How does it alert you when your pit or meat temp goes too far out deviation?

Just got mine and have only had one 3 hour test burn with it. It has a configurable audible alarm for pit limits and for when your food probes hit target temps. It will also alarm if a probe goes open (fails).

Additionally, you can set it up to email or text you with the same alerts.

I'm using the Pit Pal Android app to record & chart cooks. So far, so good.

What BuHi said. I got mine recently as well and Im testing it on my Weber Performer now as I type. I have it set up where it sends email alerts to me. I tested it on my kamado and it worked flawless. Looks to be performing very well on the Weber too.
