Lyfe Tyme bbq pit score

Ad in the morning paper"Smoker Lg,xtra heavy steel $45.00" I called I went and found a 20 year old Lyfe Tyme double lid 20x40, 19 x 38 cooking area, weighing 470 lbs. Took a while to load, it is at the welding shop, sandblast, a few holes repaired, and move the stack from top to the bottom and new paint. With mods and paint another $100.00, new price $1099.00. I believe this is my second score of the month ! Wife says this is the last score. Pictures tomorrow when I get back to the welding shop.

That company makes some heavy duty stuff. A local Q store had one of the horizontal/vertical combo smokers. That thing was a freaking beast. The owner of the store ended up selling it for a loss because no one wanted such a big, heavy and expensive pit. He said it took a bunch of dudes to put it on the flatbed and that it almost tipped over on them.

GREAT SCORE!

I checked out their pits and found their open top grill to be a pretty neat idea for a drum grill. That flip up grate is too cool.

Yes, I don't think my welder will be finished this week, I wish I had my camera with me when I bought it. Anyway, I know the rule about pictures....trust me I'm a lawyer.

My FIL just bought a Lyfe Tyme monster. He bought it at the farkin grocerystore!!! Damn, I miss Texas.

smokeydog 04-30-2008 06:05 PM

Lyfe Tyme picture as promised

Here it sits at the welding shop. Next is a sandblast, new paint, some welding and new wheels. Weighing in at 470 pounds, it is a beast! Oh by the way, I haven't practiced since 1993. I'm a full time landlord.
