This was our team's 1 year KCBS anniversary. Our very first contest was here a year ago. Finished 12th vs. 33rd last year. Thanks to Scottie and all of you for the help.

Congrats to Ryan and Don. Two of the most laid back guys out there and well deserving. Sorry to those who lost property, got injured, or had to pull out because of the storm. Hope to see you all down the road.

I heard some rumor of 25 ez ups getting destroyed

It was at least that many, plus some expensive RV awnings. The festival vendors pretty much got everything destroyed.

I really enjoyed cooking this contest with Woodward BBQ.

I'm paying for it, but damn, I had fun. I got to visit with a lot of friends and I got reminded of why I love this hobby, sport, obsession or whatever it is :grin:.

Mike, Looks like you are getting things together. Nice finish. As nice as it was Sat evening all hell must have cut loose later. Amazed so many pulled out.

The storm really caught us by surprise, but I managed to get most stuff in the trailer and the ez-up tops off the frames before it got really bad.

I honestly felt that our best chances for calls were in chicken, pork, and dessert. Needless to say, we ended up walking in people's choice, side, ribs, and brisket. Hope they don't pull my judging certification.

Nice job this weekend Mike, you're team has made some great strides in the first year! Will we see you at RCR?

Thanks Don, we have learned a lot and try to improve a bit each time out. I'm not sure yet on RCR. I'm between that one and a smaller contest in my hometown the week before.
