Going on a semi impromptu trip to Vegas in December. Ive been their a bunch but never really looked out for anything special in terms of food or drink. Just went with the wind. Suggestions?

If you've never been to Bautista's Hole in the Wall, I highly recommend it. Old school Italian joint where they put a free bottle of chianti on your table, accordion player roaming around. You can feel the rat pack presence...

Batista’s Is fun. Road Kill Grill is decent. Ellis Island is also good. I have heard good things about Rollin’ SMoke BBQ, but haven’t been.

Ive been to Ellis Island. You talk about a cheap meal. Pretty sure we had 2 steak dinners with beer for under 20 bucks.

Hash House a go go.

Yellowtail in the Bellagio is very good but pretty expensive. If you have a good night at the tables and have some money burning a hole in your pocket I say definitely go for it..A lot of share plates. Good stuff. Then again last time I was there I had about 10 fingers of Bulleit prior. Have fun Vegas is always a blast.

Oh yeah also Atomic Liquors is a great place to grab a beer or cocktail. It's on Freemont St but it's kind of off the beaten path.

If you ask the taxi drivers, Ellis Island has the best breakfast in town. Old school $6.95 steak and eggs. They also added a microbrewery that is good too.

Thanks. I love Fremont. Ill find this place. If I had my choice id stay on Fremont but if the Hilton insists on giving me a free place to stay center strip who am I to argue....

I last visited Vegas over 50 years ago. I was two, almost three, and still have a few memories. One was of a putting green on the top floor of our hotel. I remember being in a Casino, going to a show. My most fond memory was lying on the bed of our hotel room. The sheets were white and I was watching TV with my brother. Our parents were out at some show and we were alone. He was seven and I was two. He was on the phone talking to room service, "Bring up two 7-ups, and charge it to my dad." I remember laughing and later drinking the 7-ups that room service brought us. I don't remember the specific hotel to recommend, but it is one of my earliest and best memories.

Sakana for a fun all you cat eat sushi meal. Not the finest in town but consistently good food.
Bellagio buffet is really nice as well as Caesars Palace's.
Tacos El Gordo for good tacos minimal dent in the wallet.
Korean BBQ at Hobak Korean BBQ
Pho Kim Long for Pho.
Mr Mamas for brunch.
I have 2 accounts in Vegas I oversee so I am there twice a month.
Looking for anything in particular?

They do have a American Coney Island Grill on Freemont St for a taste of home after to many adult sodas.... not as good as the real thing but in a pinch.

I work a few miles from the original! Im not looking for anything in particular, just new options for fun and food :)

Funny, I was going to make the same post. Will be there at the end of this month. Any steakhouse recommendations?

Just back after a long weekend of work in Vegas visited some old favorites that were excellent Peppermill still delivers, secret pizza was excellent as well as Borracho Burro (Guy Fieri's) this place should not make me happy but always does. Trashcan Nachos at 11 PM just make sense to me there. Avoid Hash House A Go-Go both in the Linq and Rio was they were individually just horrific back to back days. I have been a customer there for almost a decade and sadly I will not be back.

If you're going to be there December 15 and 16 we are having the 5th annual Downtown Throwdown on Freemont street. Full 4 meat KCBS with chili sampling on Friday and BBQ on Saturday. Great people watching.
