Maverick 732 IT readings off
 
I just got the 732 friday.never used one.while i firmly believe the the UDS temp reading,the IT on a whole fryer must be way off..within 10 min on the drum it read 163..i figured i must be too shallow in the breast(woodpile?) so i reajusted & same thing??30 min in the cookin & IT reading of 205..help please.. also i am cookin on a beer can twiins cooker with no beer cans..what gives?

Make sure you have the probes plugged into the right jacks and the probe wires are not kinked or twisted. They should also not be pinched in the door or run through the firebox or the exhaust.

Your meat probe tip should be in the center of the thickest part of the meat away from any bones.

There are many things that can effect temperature readings between different thermometers. (IE: Maverick vs Dial Thermometer)

As far as differences between thermometer readings, even if both thermometers were calibrated on the same test equipment there will be differences due to the components used, placement in the cooker, and even relative humidity can all create variances and effect reaction times of the thermometers.

If you are sure of probe placement and proper plugs, then call Maverick, you could possibly have a bad probe.

Verify if you're set on fahrenheit or celcius.
