Class or Stoker/Guru

We've had a good run this year and the wife is becoming an enabler to my BBQ addiction. I have the choice of getting a Stoker/Guru or taking a competition class.

I can justify both, but what does the Brethren say? We use 3 UDS's for comps. We've done pretty well for the first full year out (5 contests, several calls and one GC), but would like to get more consistent.

Why or why not on your choice?

I'm not a competition cooker, and I love my stoker, but for your situation I'd say take a top notch competition class. Sounds like you're close as far as comps, perhaps some tips and advice from a proven winner would put you over the top. As I said before, I love my stoker, but I think experience and knowledge would trump it for competition.

If you're going to keep competing i would say a class. You can't learn enough about
the journey of competing. Pick a top team and take their class it's a great investment.

There is a class taught jointly by Tippeycanoe and Big T'z that I've had my eye on. I'm leaning that way for the February class. There are a few spots left, so maybe that's the way to go?

Take a class. UDS's don't need ATCs.

If you have done that well in comps without a Stoker, then you probably dont need it. However, a top level class could raise you to the next level!!! Nice to have options tho:clap2::clap2:
