Is it tacky or good to ask past clients to write a review for your business?

There is nothing wrong with setting that expectation, just be up front in asking for feedback/reviews. Trust me, the feedback that you want is when clients are unhappy or unsatisfied.

If your providing and outstanding product and service, people will be more than happy to praise your good work.
