Playoffs Bacon Bowl

This is my first attempt at a bacon bowl. I wanted to create a good appetizer for the playoff games today. These are sautéed mushrooms stuffed with crabmeat and cream cheese mixture, topped with marinated shrimp.

The starting lineup.

Softening up the mushrooms in wine and butter.

Bowls ready to come off.

Prep time.

Stuffed and wrapped.

Back on the Weber.

These were good.

once question though, how was the balance of flavors with this? Did the bacon flavor overpower the crab/shrimp taste?

Not at all. There was a lot of crab in the stuffing and that is what I tasted mostly.

That looks great. The whole weaving and tedious detail pays off when it works. For me, it usually fails because I usually lose my patience, have fat fingers, whatever. Looks delicious and wish I could replicate.... :-D
