Mother of all SCORES!!
I've always wanted one of these for the backyard! Great for steaks and great for using the dutch ovens. Course, they are not cheap and shipping kills it for me. My neighbors are moving out and Ryan is a certified welder. I'm always talking to him and when he's out front welding I'll take some beers over and learn some welding tips from him. When we have a cookout, I invite him and his dad over to get some food and some beers. He had this leftover from a job they did at a local park. He said he wanted it to go to someone that would appreciate it. PRICE: FREE! He's a great young man as is his dad. Gonna miss these guys when they move out! This thing is HEAAAAVVVVY!! It's gonna look way cool in the backyard! We will have our very own PARK.:biggrin1:
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps5e86716d.jpg Has the base too. Super thick steel. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps2c5129d0.jpg I'm a happy camper!! |
Congratulations Bob.
That's a gem. Dave |
I guess you're not moving soon. Great score!

Seriously that is a neat looking grill, would like to see it setup. |
Those are awesome! Super heavy duty too...
|
Wow, I have specified those types of grills for 30 years, that is a good looking one for sure. Gonna be a nice Dutch oven table as well.

Wishin my neighbor would move. He is not as good a man as yours. Still wish he would move , so I could tear down his house and * "put up a parking lot" with a couple of grills like that! Then I could tailgate, without a tail and walk through the gate!

Darn but that is a great score. That will outlive all of us. Seriously heavy duty ala campground style.
|
That is farking awesome!
|
Great score. Congrats.
|
Heavy and nice..with the New verticle cooking design...................(just kidding)
I have not seen that style around up here in years as it is heavy and adjustable.. I built one into my patio fire pitt 1999, still useable but on the last go around..mostly cast iron.. |

Oh yeah!!!! Those things are GREAT. There's a nice park w/ waterfalls nearby that has those...I took down the manu.'s name to check into it...no surprise at the steep cost.
Congrats man! That IS the best score I've seen here, imo. |
We have one at our pool! Just ask Deguerre That is where he signed his beard...(Hint pour concrete slab with bolts coming up through the concrete) for easy removal. lol we also put a penny so you could see it the year we put it in.. Also find a cover they do rust...

Congrats on the grill! We have one and love it. Ours is mounted on a disc so it some-what mobile. I found the disk on the Pilot Rock website, they carry some accessories for the park model grills.

We had over 900 acres of parks from 1/4 acre to 200. 45 in all. City near Galveston. I was park supt. for 9 years before taking over the solid waste dept. Retired in 2002.

Pilot Rock is better than Gametime or Miracle, heavier build, better welding. But, more costly. I prefer a concrete pad and bolts, versus the portable steel base, just a little more stable. You can prevent some rust with seasoning, but, they get dirty and disgusting (birds like to set on them) without a cover.
Out here in California, with moderate care, you see these units last 20 years, even near the coast, I have seen them go 10 to 15 with little problem. |
Good neighbors are a godsend! Mighty nice score BB; be sure to post a few pix of the final setup.
|
What a great guy to give it to you for free! You're obviously a great neighbor, too, or he'd never have given it to you in the first place, Bob. What goes around, comes around. :thumb:

Very cool cooker, I still think burgers and hotdogs taste better off a park grill.
